Amitabh Bachchan completed 8 decades of life on 11th October celebrating his 80th birthday. The megastar has devoted more than 50 years to the India Cinema. However, known to very few Big B had taken a break from his cinematic career. Since debuting in 1969 with Saath Hindustani the legendary actor continues to work in the film industry.
In 5 decades of his working career, Amitabh Bachchan chose to take a pause from acting. In the year 1992 Big B declared a break from movies. He chose to stay home and spend some family time. At that time his fans and people from the film fraternity were shocked and surprised.
He said, “Paiso ke liye main filme nahi karna chahraha hu. Kai saal tak main film me kaam karta raha, thoda sa waqt chahiye apne aap ke liye apne parivaar ke liye. Aisa toh maine nahi kaha ki main hamesha hamesha ke liye filme nahi karuga. Lekin abhi maine socha hai ki thoda sa aaram karlu aur bohot si jo gharelu baate hai usme vyast rahu. Jaise hi usse alag hojauga avasya film me kaam karuga. Main ek vyaktigat insaan hu aur apna jeevan apni tarah jeena chahta hu.”
The versatile actor also thanked his fans and audience for the love and support. He added, “Public ne hamesha mujhe pyaar, sadbhavna aur apna prem dikhaya hai uske liye main aabhari hu. Lekin is samay maine ek niji nirnay apne jeevan me liya hai aur main chahta hu ki jis dherya se janta jo hai mere kaam ko dekhti rahi usi dherya se mere us nirnay ko bhi dekhe. Maine aaj tak koi bhi nayi film sign nahi ki hai na abhi koi asha hai ki aage karuga filhaal.”

Amitabh Bachchan turned 80 delivering some memorable iconic movies. Talking about his recent work, Big B’s latest release Goodbye starring Rashmika Mandanna and Neena Gupta was released theatrically on 7th October. He is also hosting the 14th season of a popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. He will next feature alongside Anupam Kher and Boman Irani in Uunchai. Rajshri Films Uunchai will release in theaters on 11th November this year.
