Celebrities can become targets of trolls for a multitude of reasons. Trolling refers to the act of deliberately posting inflammatory, offensive, or controversial comments or messages online with the intention of provoking a reaction or upsetting others. Celebrities, due to their high visibility and public status, often attract a lot of attention, both positive and negative, from a wide range of people.
Talking about the recent incident, Bollywood’s talented actor Ranveer Singh was brutally trolled when filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar announced him as the new don for his film Don 3. While showing their displeasure, many said that no one can replace Shah Rukh Khan, whereas some reacted violently. There were many harsh comments the actor received, like he can not take the legacy of SRK, Ranveer only deserves a rom-com, and many more.
Although trolling has been going on for the last several decades.
It is widely acknowledged that Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan was the first “don” in the entertainment industry, with Shah Rukh later inheriting that legacy. But at that time, when this news spread about him, he was also attacked brutally by netizens, who said that he could not replace Amitabh at all. But Shah Rukh Khan successfully silenced the trolls and left everyone shocked.
And now it is the turn of Ranveer Singh. He is a talented actor, and in his journey till now, he has won many roles and he will also play the role of Don very well.
I want to convey that, just as Shah Rukh was trolled when he was announced as Amitabh Bachchan’s replacement, he proved himself, and Ranveer will also prove himself. We shouldn’t judge him when his journey has not even begun in the era of Don.
