Did You Know? Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif Broke Up Right Before Ek Tha Tiger Casting

Released back in 2012, “Ek Tha Tiger” became one of the biggest and all-time blockbuster Bollywood films. One of the key attractions of the film was Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan’s chemistry. However, in the latest interview, Ek Tha Tiger’s director, Kabir Khan revealed that both Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif had broken up right before the casting of the film, nevertheless, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif joined the project despite their uneasy relationship dynamics.

During an interview with Mashable India, Kabir Khan disclosed that he initially approached Katrina Kaif to portray the character of Zoya. He emphasized her close bond with his wife, Mini Mathur, considering her as family.

Recalling how Salman gave a nod to his offer for Ek Tha Tiger, Kabir said, “And then we went to Salman. This was the stage when they had broken up, so it wasn’t like comfortable. I told him I wanted Katrina and he knew my connection with her.”

Kabir Khan also mentioned that he and Adi Chopra remained silent during their drive back from Salman Khan’s Galaxy apartment. When they finally spoke, it felt like they had achieved a significant casting coup. The following day, they officially announced the movie.

Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif’s Relationship

For those unaware, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan were romantically involved for nearly four years until their reported breakup in 2009. Subsequently, Katrina Kaif began dating Ranbir Kapoor. Following their separation, Katrina Kaif found companionship in Vicky Kaushal, and they are now married. Despite their romantic history, Katrina Kaif maintains a cordial relationship with Salman Khan and is frequently seen attending various family gatherings hosted by the Khans.
