Vasant Bala is collaborating with Karan Johar’s Dharma Production and Alia Bhatt for his upcoming venture after “Monica, O My Darling”. But this collaboration seemed impossible as Vasant Bala is not fond of Karan Johar’s previous creations and Karan Johar shared that once Vasant Bala fell asleep while watching his film.
In a recent conversation with ‘The Week’, Karan Johar shared an anecdote when Vasant Bala confessed that he fell asleep while watching KJo’s one of the superb works “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham”. But Karan liked the honesty he showed in his opinions and also accepted that not everyone may appreciate his work.
In that same interview, Vasant Bala shared his vision about KJo’s work. He said that he wasn’t so pleased with Karan Johar’s film as both of them have different styles of storytelling. When both of them met, Vasant Bala was almost shocked to see Karan Johar in his genuine attitude and not carrying one of the big producers. Karan approached him and asked him for his opinion and idea about what project Bala wanted to work on. And that was the moment when Vasant Bala got the clear idea that their collaboration would have equal creative partnership and genuineness.
This collaboration was equally genuine for Karan too, as Vasant wasn’t one of his admirers. And therefore, he was very excited about this partnership. This much awaited tie-up is the movie “Jigra” featuring Alia Bhatt. The story opens a bond between a brother and a sister. It does have Alia Bhatt’s production partnership through Eternal Sunshine Productions. Jigra will be released in September 2024.
