Chamkila Trailer: Diljit Dosanjh & Parineeti Chopra Ready To Tell The Unheard Story Of Amar Singh Chamkila

Another biographical drama of 2024, “Chamkila” released its trailer. The film starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra is based on a Punjabi singer, Amar Singh Chamkila known as Elvis of Punjab. The film by Imtiaz Ali has created a buzz on the internet as it delves into the story of Amar Singh’s assassination at the age of 27.

The trailer of the film is enough for one to understand the reason behind his assassination. The 2 minute 37-second long video tries to grab everything from Amar Singh’s desire to become a singer, his efforts, Parineeti’s entry in the film, his success to his death. The trailer opens with an introduction of Amar Singh Chamkila as ‘the Elvis of Punjab who was recognized worldwide for his vulgar songs.’ Amar Singh works in a socks factory but his conscious mind lives somewhere else in the world of music. The trailer has shown the popularity and the crowd’s love he receives due to his songs. Chamkila is in fact the mispronunciation of his surname, but gradually he gets known by that name. The makers used Punjabi music, praising Chamkila; it’s really enchanting and catchy. Even though Parineeti has a prominent role in the film, there is not a single dialogue by Parineeti in the trailer.

Versatile singer and music composer A.R. Rahman has given music to this film and is backed by Window Seat Films Production. Apart from Parineeti and Diljit, there are no more star faces in the film. This story of the highest record selling artist of Punjab will be released on April 12 on Netflix.
