But his passion for films, science and life, in general, continues to inspire millions of people even today. While there’s a constant debate on how Sushant was a victim of nepotism and gangism in Bollywood, there have been celebrities who truly supported him and always said nice things about him.
1- Kriti Sanon
Kriti Sanon worked with Sushant Singh Rajput in the 2017 film ‘Raabta’. During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Kriti had said, “Sushant is a very close friend. He is very simple and very very intelligent. He is one of the most intelligent people I have met. I like the fact that he is very compassionate. He feels towards education. He is a thinker and has great humour too.”
2- Shekhar Kapur
Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur was amongst the first celebs to raise his voice after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Shekhar had worked extensively with late actor while they prepped for ‘Paani’, which was later shelved. Amongst many other tweets in his memory, Shekhar once wrote, “I miss exploring philosophy and physics with Sushant. For someone so young, his mind was incredibly agile. With amazing wisdom.”
3- Jacqueline Fernandez
Jacqueline Fernandez and Sushant Singh Rajput worked together in the 2019 film ‘Drive’. It was Sushant’s last release before he passed away. His sudden demise left Jacqueline in shock. Shortly after his demise, she said during an interview, “I looked at him as this genius. He was always telling me which books to read. He would say, ‘Oh Jacky, you don’t know this. Oh wait, wait, wait. Let me tell introduce you to this author, let me introduce you to this Science.’ And things actually helped me in my life and changed my life in a way. The kind of things that he was teaching me about philosophy, about bio-hacking, things about improving my wellness and energy level.”
4- Shraddha Kapoor
At India Today Mind Rocks Delhi 2019, Shraddha Kapoor spoke about her co-star, Sushant Singh Rajput. Apart from appreciating his work in film ‘Chhichhore’, she said, “He is a curious man. He is really interested in the universe. He reads a lot and he is very interesting to have a conversation with.”
Shraddha was also one of the few celebs to attend Sushant Singh Rajput’s funeral. Remembering him after his demise, Sushant penned a long note on Instagram. She wrote, Dearest Sush…! “Full of humility, intelligence, curiosity about life, seeing beauty in everything, everywhere! He danced to his own tune! He cared for people and wanted to see them happy. His kind smile, the conversations we had at shoot about the Cosmos, different philosophies, the moments we spent together, were filled with magical wonderment! During a lovely musical and poetry filled get together at his home (he loved music and poetry), he showed me the moon from his telescope and I was so speechless that I could see it’s exquisite beauty up close!! He wanted to share that feeling! Our Chhichhore gang went to his beautiful home in Pavna, where we were awestruck together with the peace and calm of the nature around us – he loved nature! He saw things through a kaleidoscopic lens and wanted to share that with everyone around him. He was mesmerized by the simplest things and would muse on them in a genius way…he was truly, One of a kind.”
Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film ‘Dil Bechara’ was released shortly after his death. While he is gone, the void created by his untimely demise can never be filled!
