Vaani Kapoor is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming movie Shamshera. She is will be seen in a different avatar in Karan Malhotra’s film. She will be featuring as Sona, who is a traveling performer of India in the 1800s. Reportedly Vaani Kapoor had to learn Horse Riding for the film in which she is paired opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
Shamshera is a period drama film helmed by Karan Malhotra. It is now widely known that Ranbir Kapoor played a double role for the first time in his acting career. Following this, we have discovered another trivia that actress Vaani Kapoor took horse riding lessons to ace her character in Shamshera.
‘Shamshera’ director Karan Malhotra confirmed the news stating: “Vaani had to go through horse training because when you’re training with an animal and you want to work with an animal on a film you have to make a relationship with the animal… the horse that she trained with for the longest time and eventually that horse became a friend.”
Vaani Kapoor added: “Even for horse riding you need that emotional connection with the animal. They will throw you off otherwise. I remember I used to get this whole packet of biscuits and that’s how the trainer also told me to feed the horse, befriend the horse and it’s so cute. I mean they’re like the loveliest animals. I think it’s extremely important to be friends with them first. They only know the language of love.”
Karan Malhotra has earlier directed Agneepath in 2012 and Brothers in 2015. He has now directed Shamshera after seven years. The film is a period drama action-adventure starring Ranbir Kapoor in a dual role and Sanjay Dutt as an antagonist. Vaani Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Ashutosh Rana, and Saurabh Shukla will also play important roles.
Aditya Chopra has bankrolled the film under the banners of home production Yash Raj Films. The movie is made on a budget of 150 crores and is expected to beat RRR in terms of box office collection. The film is set to release on 15th July 2022 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
