After The Nat Geo Article, Filmmaker Niraj Shojan Is Looking Forward To A Documentary

Niraj Shojan is an Indian filmmaker who has already worked for B4U, Zee Music , Disney and Doordarshan.

Niraj Shojan is a filmmaker, writer and photographer working in the Indian film industry. He has worked for Zee Music, B4U and Music Fitoor record labels. He started his journey in filmmaking as an assistant director in 2017 for regional Doordarshan Channel. Parallelly, he kept pursuing photography which gave him a reward he never thought of!

Niraj hails from Bhagalpur, Bihar and completed his Bachelor in Engineering from CMR Institute, Bangalore. He was inclined towards art and filmmaking since his school days. He says, “When I was in 11th grade, my father gave a lump sum amount for IIT coaching. But I invested the entire amount in learning VFX and 2D graphics without asking him. I wasn’t able to score for IIT but in the end I was content with my visual effects knowledge and a graphics designing degree from Arena Animation, Bokaro.”

After completing his engineering, Niraj joined an IT firm in Mumbai and continued his photography in his leisure time, which led him a call from National Geographic. As he is a travel enthusiast, one of his photograph from Matheran, Maharashtra got selected for an article named “12 Incredible ways to experience India”. Later that year, Disney approached him and made a three year contract with him for using that photograph for print and other usage.

Currently, Niraj is working on a film project which came to a halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic. There are many music videos as well, whose shooting has been done and is ready to release under various music labels.

“I want to make a movie like Christopher Nolan, as I have an inclination towards physics and I think all the studies which I have done, whether it is graphics, camera, direction or writing, it is somewhere leading me to achieve my dream.” he further added.
