This unexpected digital cleanse triggered a wave of speculation among his followers, many of whom quickly connected the dots, suggesting a possible link to the long-anticipated sequel, ‘Mr India 2’. Even his daughter Sonam Kapoor and son-in-law Anand Ahuja couldn’t help but react to this mysterious digital makeover.

In a recent exclusive interview with News18, Boney Kapoor, the renowned producer and brother of Anil Kapoor, was probed about his reaction to Anil’s Instagram purge. Keeping a tight lid on any potential details regarding ‘Mr India 2’, Boney Kapoor tactfully stated that he was yet to peruse Anil’s Instagram profile and would reserve his comments until he had the complete picture.
“I haven’t seen it myself. But he did mention to me that he wants to show me something,” Boney Kapoor disclosed. He remained tight-lipped on any Mr India 2 updates, emphasizing that he’d only shed light on the matter once things had fully materialized.
Notably, Anil Kapoor’s recent social media disappearance is reminiscent of his iconic role in the 1987 cult classic ‘Mr India’, produced by Boney Kapoor. In the film, Anil portrayed a man who stumbles upon a mystical timepiece granting him the power of invisibility. The movie, helmed by director Shekhar Kapur, also starred the late Sridevi as a spirited journalist, alongside the memorable performances of Amrish Puri, Satish Kaushik, Harish Patel, and Annu Kapoor.
Looking ahead, Anil Kapoor is all set to grace the silver screen with the much-anticipated ‘Animal’, directed by Sandeep Vanga Reddy, featuring stellar co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. The theatrical release of ‘Animal’ is scheduled for the 1st of December. Additionally, the seasoned actor has the action-packed ‘Fighter’, directed by Siddharth Anand, in the pipeline, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, slated to hit theaters on Republic Day 2024.
