Ananya Panday, a young talent in the Bollywood film industry, is always in the media’s focus because of her alleged relationship with Bollywood actor Aditya Roy Kapoor. Recently she talked about social media and life due to social media with Elle India. As she is from a generation when smartphones weren’t a thing and that is why she said that she has started unfollowing some pages of social media.
Elaborating on her statement more, she said, “I still believe I’ve had it easier because I had a childhood without phones. Things are tougher for teenagers these days as it can be easy to seek validation from social media. There is a constant overload of information on social media, and you don’t know how much of it will impact you negatively. It slowly creeps up on you, and that negativity starts building up. Which is why I’ve started muting and unfollowing pages that make me feel anxious, sad or unhappy in any way — I have grown quite ruthless.”
In this period of social media, seeking attention on social media and getting FOMOs (feeling of missing out), people really need to have their own way of calming them down. There is a need for some kind of peace in the lives of people. Talking about this, Ananya said that she is always surrounded by lots of people. Thus, spending time alone makes her feel calm. She said, “Spending time by myself and listening to my own voice is what calms me down.”
Though Ananya is unfollowing some social media pages, she is still active on social media to keep her fans updated. Her birthday post made her fans happy and curious as they wanted to know about the secret person who was with her on that birthday date.
