We all know the story of how Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan faced a financial crisis after his company ABCL collapsed, and his name got associated with the Bofors scandal. Many people witnessed his downfall during that time, while others only heard stories.

Now, veteran actor Aanjjan Srivastav has shared a story related to Amitabh Bachchan and how he tackled the crisis. Srivastav recalled the 1980s when Big B was reportedly caught in the middle of the Bofors scandal, although he was later cleared of any involvement.

According to the actor, the news of Amitabh’s troubles was widespread, with his posters being torn across the country. Srivastava decided to pay a visit to Amitabh on the sets of Toofan at Filmistan. When he asked about Amitabh’s well-being, Bachchan simply replied, “theek hun” (I’m fine).

Srivastava further recalled that Amitabh was in a very bad condition, with critics from Allahabad targeting him and his father’s friends speaking ill of him without knowing the full story. It’s worth mentioning that Aanjjan Srivastav was also a banker, and his bank was reportedly involved with Amitabh’s company ABCL.

The actor shared that he visited Amitabh as a banker during ABCL’s rough phase. He mentioned, “When we met him, he immediately got up with folded hands and said, ‘I will return your money as soon as possible.'” However, Srivastav clarified that they had not come for money but to rectify an error. He also stated that his bank did not file any lawsuit against Amitabh, and eventually, the actor returned all the money.
