Ameesha Patel Blames Salman Khan’s Hit-And-Run Case For ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’ Failure: ‘Because Of…’

Ameesha Patel revealed that her film 'Yeh Hai Jalwa' with Salman Khan was a box office failure and discussed the reasons behind its lack of success.

‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’ released in 2002 and directed by David Dhawan, featured Salman Khan and Amisha Patel in the lead roles. Despite its star cast and catchy soundtrack, the film, revolving around father-son relationships and mistaken identities, failed to meet box office expectations. While the comedy genre and the presence of established actors were its strengths, factors like tough competition and other audience preferences during that time contributed to its box office failure.

Recently, actress Ameesha Patel, who is on cloud nine after the massive success of Gadar 2, has witnessed the film achieve smashing success even after a gap of two decades. ‘Gadar 2: The Katha Continues’ has emerged as one of the top-grossing films of the year 2023. This film has brought Ameesha’s career back on track, as she had faced a few unsuccessful films in the past and had not been very active in the industry. In a recent interview, she revealed that her film ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’ with Salman Khan was a box office failure and discussed the reasons behind its lack of success.

According to Bollywood Hungana, the actress said, “Yeh Hai Jalwa was one of David Dhawan’s best films. Salman has never looked more handsome and the music and everything was good. But I think because earlier the media gave news the audiences were not so open about accepting some negative news about their favourite actors. Salman’s accident had newly happened so Yeh Hai Jalwa got sidelined. Had the audience been open to it…that is one film that would have done really well.”
