Alia Bhatt Reacts Angrily To Media Reports, Says, “I Am A Woman Not A Parcel”

Alia Bhatt slams media reports stating postponement of her films due to her pregnancy. And writes, "I am a woman, not a parcel".

Alia Bhatt Pregnant: Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are expecting a baby and the news has been making a buzz over the internet. Celebs throughout the industry congratulated the actors on the good news, for which the actress recently penned a note showing her gratitude while at the same time the actress took a dig at media reports and said, “I Am A Woman Not A Parcel”.

Alia Bhatt Pens Thank-You Note

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt on Tuesday took to her Instagram stories and shared a gratitude note, and wrote, ” Overwhelmed with all the love ! Have tried to read everyone’s messages and good wishes and all I want to say is, it truly feels so special to celebrate such a big moment in our lives with all your love and blessings. Thank you every single one of you.”

Alia Bhatt Slams Media Reports

Soon after which the actress shared yet another wrote, mentioning a media report which stated that the actress’s films are getting delayed due to her pregnancy. The report read, “Actress Alia Bhatt took the internet by storm on Monday morning after she announced her first pregnancy. Reportedly, the mommy-to-be will return to Mumbai in mid-July. It is also being reported that Ranbir Kapoor might go to the UK to bring his wife home. According to India Today, Alia will be taking a rest after she returns from her shoot. The report also suggests that the actress planned her pregnancy in a way that doesn’t affect any of her commitments. She will be wrapping up her films, ‘Heart Of Stone’ and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ before the end of July.”

Sharing the report Alia wrote, “Meanwhile we still live in some people’s heads. We still live in a patriarchal world. FYI, nothing has gotten delayed. No one needs to pick anyone up. I am a woman, not a parcel. I do not need to rest at all but good to know you’ll have a doctor’s certification as well. This is 2022. Can we please get out of this archaic way of thinking? Now if you would excuse me. My shot is ready.”

On the work front, Alia and Ranbir will be together seen in Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy film ‘Brahmastra’. It is scheduled for theatrical release on Sep 9. She is currently working on her Hollywood debut film. While she also has Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani in the pipeline.
