Ever since Hera Pheri 3 was announced it created many headlines and piqued audience with excitement. Well, the latest buzz surrounding the movie saddened Hera Pheri fans knowing that Akshay Kumar will no longer be a part of the extended comedy franchise. Raju will be instead replaced by Kartik Aaryan which disheartened them. Unfortunately, this is not rumours as Akshay Kumar has himself confirmed that he has backed out from Hera Pheri 3.
Initially, the Firoz Nadiadwala production comic film series was supposed to cast original stars. Akki was considered to play Raju and likewise Suniel Shetty as Shyam and Paresh Rawal as Baburao. However, the dreams and excitement have been shattered with Khiladi Kumar stepping down from the project.
In a recent event at Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2022, Akshay Kumar revealed the reason for not doing Hera Pheri 3. He said, “Hera Pheri has been a part of me. Like a lot of people, I have good memories. Mujhe bhi dukh hota hai (I feel bad as well) that in so many years, part 3 hasn’t been made. But like I said we have to dismantle things. The film was offered to me but I was not satisfied with the script. I have to do what people want to see. That is why, I backed out. I took a step behind. It is a part of my life and journey for me. I am also very sad that I can’t do it. But I am not happy with how the creative things have shaped out. That’s why I backed out.”
He further added, “As much as hurt they are, I myself am very hurt. It’s a very sad thing but at the same time unhone iss baat ko trend karaya, (they made this trend) thank you very much. I apologize to them (fans) that I won’t be doing Hera Pheri. Sorry.”
Hera Pheri film series is an iconic comic drama that still rules the audience’s hearts. The film could have brought a storm in the industry because people have been waiting for this sequel for years. Well, it is now to see what the makers will bring to the plate with a new story and Kartik playing Raju alongside Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal.
