Air Force Officer Slams Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, Calls It ‘Big Insult’

A retired Airforce Officer slams Aamir Khan and his film Laal Singh Chaddha and says, "His film is a big insult to the Indian Army."

Laal Singh Chaddha has disappointed people. People were already unhappy with the idea of remaking the classic film Forrest Gump and then Aamir Khan’s fake Punjabi accent and same old expressions served as a buzz kill. On top of it, the film angered people with the portrayal of an Indian Army officer.

While people have already rejected the film, Retired Air Commodore Kartikeya Kale has slammed Aamir Khan for his portrayal of an army officer in a wrongful manner.

During an interview with Pyara Hindustan, the IAF officer said, “I don’t know what he was thinking before making this film. There must be some agenda behind it.”

Elaborating his thoughts to the Hindi news portal, he said, “Aamir has not looked into the character of an army officer. If he ever sat with an army officer for even five minutes, he would understand that the character he tried to portray can never be a soldier of the Indian army. Thinking that a mentally challenged person somehow gets into the army and then goes and fights during a war, then it is a very wrong portrayal. A soldier is very sharp, he is mentally balanced and only then he is given the weapons and ammunition. A soldier of the Indian Army is physically and mentally very alert”

The officer added, “His film is a big insult to the Indian Army.”

Talking about Laal Singh Chaddha boycott and the poor box office collection, he said, “The revolt against this film was bound to happen. People know the calibre of the Indian Army. They know about the selection process, its training and its commitment. But maybe, Aamir Khan doesn’t know or he has an agenda that he intentionally ignored these things. He ignored that there’s a rigorous medical checkup is a part of the selection process of army candidates. When the selection process is so tough and strict, it is stupidity to show that a challenged person serves for several years and even goes to war.”

Laal Singh Chaddha features Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. The film was released in theatres on 11 August.
