Actress Richa Chadha Criticises & Blocks Journalist Seeking Interview On Manipur Violence

She Shared A Screenshot Of Their Conversation On Her Twitter Account, Expressing Her Frustration At The Delayed Response

Bollywood actors often speak up about social issues and share their opinions on them. Recently, a shocking incident in Manipur went viral on social media. Two girls were raped and forced to walk naked, which has shocked the entire country. The video of this incident is from May, but it’s gaining widespread attention now. Actors like Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani have expressed their concerns about this.

A journalist wanted to interview actress Richa Chadha about this incident, but she strongly criticised him and blocked him. She shared a screenshot of their conversation on her Twitter account, expressing her frustration at the delayed response and how the issue is only trending now. She believes the media is also partly responsible for such incidents.

Other Bollywood celebrities like Vivek Agnihotri, Urmila Matondkar, Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Uorfi Javed, and Renuka Shahane have also condemned the incident.

According to media reports, the horrifying incident took place on May 4 in Kangpokpi district, a day after violence erupted in the north-eastern state. The two girls were part of a group of five people abducted by a mob following the violence. A complaint has been filed, and the Chief Minister N Biren Singh has called it a crime against humanity, urging the police to investigate the matter urgently. Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani has also expressed strong condemnation, calling the incident inhuman.
