1. Chandni Chowk To China (2009)

This was the first flop film of Deepika Padukone’s career. The actress featured alongside Akshay Kumar in this action comedy film. As per reports, the film was made with a budget of Rs 800 million and raked Rs 1.2 billion at the box office. The film was declared a flop.

2. Karthik Calling Karthik (2010)

The second flop film of Deepika’s career is Karthik Calling Karthik. It is a psychological thriller film featuring Farhan Akhtar as the main lead. Made with a budget of Rs 20 crore, the film earned Rs 18.75 cr in India and its worldwide collection was Rs 28.22 cr.

3. Break Ke Baad (2010)

2010 was a dull year for Deepika Padukone as she delivered three flop films. Her second flop of 2010 was Break Ke Baad in which she featured opposite Imran Khan. The film opened to mixed reviews and was declared a box office flop.

4. Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey (2010)

This was Deepika’s third flop of the year 2010. It’s a historical action-adventure film directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. It featured Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. It was a major box office disaster.

5. Aarakshan (2011)

Aarakshan has a stellar cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan and Manoj Bajpayee. The film opened to mixed reviews. Though it has developed a fan base over a period of time, it performed below expectations at the time of release.

6. Finding Fanny (2014)

Finding Fanny features Naseeruddin Shah, Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Kapur, Dimple Kapadia and Arjun Kapoor. Though people loved the performances of each of the actors, the film failed to perform at the box office.

7. Tamasha (2015)

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer Tamasha is loved only by a selected niche. The performances of the actors were highly praised but the masses criticized the complexity of the plot. The film grossed Rs 136.63 crore worldwide against the budget of Rs 87 crore. It was declared a flop but is considered one of the best works of Ranbir Kapoor.

8. Chhapaak (2020)

Chhapaak is a biographical drama film in which Deepika Padukone plays the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal. The film was boycotted by the audience as Deepika visited JNU and supported the protests against CAA/NRC. As a result, the film failed at the box office.

9. 83 (2021)

This film is based on the 1983 World Cup. Ranveer Singh plays the role of Kapil Dev while Deepika plays his wife. Though it is one of the must watch films, it failed commercially due to COVID-19.
