Darlings is a black comedy-drama film featuring Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma in the lead roles. It is produced by Gauri Khan and Alia Bhatt. Interestingly, this film also marks the debut of Alia Bhatt as a producer with her recently founded Eternal Sunshine Productions. Darlings will release digitally on Netflix.

2. Bimbisara
Bimbisara is an upcoming Telugu action fantasy film produced by N.T.R Arts. It features Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Catherine Tresa, Samyuktha Menon and Warina Hussain. The film is said to be made with a budget of Rs 40 crore.

3. Sita Raman
Sita Raman is a highly anticipated romantic saga featuring Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur and Rashmika Mandanna. The film is set in 1965 and the trailer shows a magical love story between Dalquer and Mrunal. Sita Raman has been shot simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

4. Raksha Bandhan
Since August is a festive month, Akshay Kumar is bound to present a film. He is coming up with a comedy-drama film on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The film is titled ‘Raksha Bandhan’ and it showcases the tale of a brother and his four sisters. Bhumi Pednekar plays Akshay Kumar’s love interest. The film is directed by Aanand L Rai.

5. Laal Singh Chaddha
Akshay Kumar’s movie ‘Raksha Bandhan’ will clash with Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ at the box office on 11 August. ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is the official remake of the American classic ‘Forrest Gump’. It has been in the making for several years and is finally releasing in August. It also features Kareena Kapoor Khan as the female lead.

6. Dobaaraa
Dobaaraa is a remake of the 2018 Spanish film Mirage. The upcoming mystery movie is directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Ekta Kapoor. The film features Taapsee Pannu in the lead role and it will be released in theatres.

7. Liger
Liger is one of the most anticipated pan-India films. The film’s shooting began in 2019 but faced delay due to Covid-19. It features Telugu superstar Vijay Deverakonda and Bollywood’s young diva Ananya Panday. The film has been shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu. It is directed and produced by Puri Jagannadh. Karan Johar has also co-produced the film.
