Troubles for hip-hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs are never going to end. As the rapper continues to be inside the jail for multiple charges against him, prosecutors have now pointed out to him breaking prison rules by contacting potential witnesses in the upcoming trial.
As alleged by the prosecutors, the international artist made “relentless efforts” to “influence witness testimony”, by using telephone accounts of other inmates in the house. The reports revealed that Diddy used three-way calls to speak to people who are not on his approved contacts list. Prosecutors have informed us that, after reviewing recorded calls, they believe Diddy attempted to instruct his family members to contact potential witnesses in his case. Currently, Combs is in custody in Manhattan. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him and has previously denied any wrongdoing.
In response to the recent allegations of witness tampering, lawyer Alexandra Shapiro defended her client by stating that he could not adequately prepare for trial while imprisoned. She emphasized that the qunatity of material he needed to review was “incredibly voluminous,” especially without access to a laptop computer.
Reportedly, Sean Diddy Combs’ legal team made a renewed bid for bail last week, proposing a $50m package that would see him being monitored around the clock by security personnel, while he will be kept under house arrest. However, the bail was first rejected by the district judge followed by an appeals court judge.
