BadNewz: Directed by Anand Tiwari, the much-awaited Bollywood romantic comedy film, Bad Newz was finally released in the theatres on 19 July. Starring Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri, and Ammy Virk in the lead roles, the rom-com has unfortunately opened up to “disappointing” reviews from moviegoers. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) many netizens and early watchers shared their reviews of the film calling it “overhyped”.
Bad Newz Twitter Review
Bad Newz is an unconventional, rare comedy centered around the peculiar concept of heteropaternal superfecundation. Saloni Bagga finds herself in a unique situation where her twin pregnancy is fathered by both Akhil Chadha and Gurbir Pannu. This twist of fate sparks a wild rivalry between the two men as they compete for Saloni’s love and the affection of their children, leading to a series of chaotic and humorous events.
Hours after the theatrical release of the film, a segment of moviegoers took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared their reviews of the film. Unfortunately, most of them claimed that the film was not worth the hype that was created and was rather “lacking”.
Sharing a review a user wrote, “Lacking depth, #BadNewz offers some laughs but falls short of trailer expectations. Forced humor and unrealistic drama detract the experience. The standout is performance of #VickyKaushal. It’s only for OTT watch. Samosas will hype by giving 4 stars!”.
One wrote, “#BadNewzReview: #TriptiDimri is pregnant with twins one belongs to #VickyKaushal & Other #AmmyVirk a different concept, – Actors doing their best – Social media jokes & dialogues, Comedy is ok – But screenplay flats mostly”.
Another user criticizes the film: “Lacking depth, falls short of trailer expectations. Forced humor and unrealistic drama detract the experience. Watch only if you are fond of #VickyKaushal & #TriptiiDimra S*x Entertainer ( Yes s*x entertainer coz you won’t get anything barring Bed scene)”
