Is Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion Better Than Mohanlal’s Original po hDrishyam 3?

Mohanlal has praised Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion for its ending. But with the Malayalam and Hindi franchises taking different routes, fans may have a bigger question: which Drishyam finale delivers the more satisfying conclusion?

Can two films from the same franchise leave audiences with completely different opinions? The Drishyam series has sparked fresh discussions among fans after Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion arrived in theatres on October 2, 2026, following Mohanlal’s Malayalam film Drishyam 3, which was released on May 21, 2026.

While both actors have made their respective characters iconic, the Hindi franchise has taken its own route to conclude Vijay Salgaonkar’s story rather than directly following the latest Malayalam instalment.

Mohanlal, who plays Georgekutty in the original Malayalam films, has now congratulated Ajay Devgn and the Hindi film’s team for bringing the story to what he called a “befitting end”.

In a video message shared by the production house, Mohanlal also spoke about Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion and said, “I watched Drishyam: The Conclusion, and I am truly impressed with the way they have brought a much-loved journey to a befitting end.”

He also congratulated director Abhishek Pathak, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak, Ajay Devgn and the entire cast and crew.

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion vs Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3: Why Are Fans Comparing Them?

The comparison is understandable. Both films belong to the same thriller franchise, but they present different developments in the lives of their central characters. While Mohanlal’s Georgekutty has a strong following among Malayalam cinema audiences, Ajay’s Vijay Salgaonkar has also become a favourite among Hindi film viewers.

The Hindi series began in 2015 with Nishikant Kamat’s Drishyam, followed by Drishyam 2 in 2022, directed by Abhishek Pathak. The latest film brings Ajay’s version of the story to a close.

Which Drishyam Finale Wins Audience Preference?

Mohanlal’s appreciation has added another layer to the discussion, but whether Drishyam: The Conclusion is better than Drishyam 3 ultimately comes down to individual preference. Both actors have built memorable versions of characters who must stay one step ahead while protecting their families.

For now, the two finales offer fans different takes on a story that has kept audiences guessing. And with Mohanlal himself praising the Hindi film’s ending, the debate over which version delivers the more satisfying conclusion is likely to continue.
