Popular Indian acteess Priyamani, who has predominantly worked in the Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film industry rose to immense popularity after her role in Amazon Prime Video’s web series – The Family Man. The south indian actress ideally tied the knot with husband Mustafa Raj in the year 2017, but what felt like a happy beginning for her, was not really a happy one. Recently, Priyamani revealed how people trolled her for the interfaith marriage she chose for her, and trolllings that came post that.
Priyamani said that people would mock her stating that their kids would join ISIS on growing up, as a result of being grown up by a Muslim father. As she opened up on the negativity circling around her, she admitted that she had to work on her mental heatlh because of the massive criticism she received. Trollers labelled her marriage to Mustafa Raj as “love jihad”, which pained her to the core.

As she quoted, “When I announced my engagement, I just wanted to share this happy moment with people whom I honestly believed genuinely cared for me. However, I don’t know for what rhyme or reason, unnecessary hate started pouring in, and the love jihad accusations followed.”
Although she never turned back to give the trollers a befitting response, but the situation turned out to be pathetic for her as she had to hear more than someone can ever expect. Talking about Priyamani, she has worked in the filn Jawan starring Shahrukh Khan, Nayanthara in the lead roles. Also, in 2024, she appeared in Telugu film Bhamakalapam 2, along with Hindi films Article 370 and Maidaan.
