Sharad Kelkar, known for his intense roles across Hindi and Marathi cinema, returns with a gripping new Marathi film titled Raanti. In the recently released teaser, audiences get a glimpse of a raw and fierce world, where violence and survival rule across the town. The Raanti teaser shows the dark village of Patalpur where Sharad’s character must take up weapons to survive in a place that lives by the rule of “kill or be killed”.
From the start, Raanti draws viewers into a blood-soaked world where anger and revenge thrive. Sharad’s character explains the harsh reality of Patalpur in his voiceover which translates in English as “The sea has turned red with blood. This is not just a village, it is a loathsome town. Demons thrive in Patalpur! Kill or get killed! That’s the only rule. I was forced to pick up my weapon. Compelled to be violent. The breeze is calm, not the storm. I am a hurricane. I have taken this avatar… only to seek revenge.”
Soon after these terrifying lines, the video cuts to the title, as it roars in the background saying, “RAANTI!!!” calling it “The most powerful film of the decade!” The lines continue with “Menacing eyes; Fists ever ready for a fight… I am dangerous! Don’t take me light”. These lines reflect his choice to become a fearless warrior in this dangerous world. The intense music and visuals build a haunting feel, making each scene more thrilling.
The 1-minute 15-second ‘Raanti’ teaser captures Sharad Kelkar delivering fierce narration that show his character’s journey into violence. Each scene is packed with action, keeping viewers on edge with a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it approach. Directed by Samit Kakkad and written by Hrishikesh Koli, Raanti has an impressive cast, including Sanjay Narvekar, Santosh Juvekar, Kannada actress Shanvi Srivastava and veteran actors like Chhaya Kadam and Nagesh Bhosle. With music by Ajit Parab and Punit Balan as producers, the film aims to be a remarkable Marathi action thriller.
