Veteran actor Rajesh Sharma recent health scare has now taken a serious turn beyond medical concerns. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has demanded a high-level investigation into the circumstances surrounding the actor’s illness during the shoot of Prabhas’ upcoming film Fauji at Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City.
AICWA Questions Medical Response On Set
In an official statement, AICWA president Er. Suresh Shyamlal Gupta questioned why Sharma was not immediately shifted to a leading hospital in Hyderabad if his condition had become serious during the shoot. The association also raised concerns over whether emergency medical facilities were available on the set and if proper workplace safety and health protocols were being followed.
AICWA stated that Rajesh Sharma ’s health reportedly worsened during the shooting schedule before he travelled to Kolkata, where he was admitted to a private hospital. The association added that the actor is reportedly “still not out of danger” and said the incident deserves an “immediate, impartial and transparent investigation.”
Conflicting Claims Over Actor’s Illness
Earlier reports suggested that Sharma developed a severe infection after a suspected insect bite while shooting in a densely vegetated area. According to a statement issued on behalf of his family, the infection spread rapidly, leading to high fever, breathlessness and swelling in his right leg.
However, Rajesh Sharma’s personal assistant Subhashish Panda later denied the insect bite reports. He clarified that the actor was hospitalised because of leg swelling linked to diabetes and said the reports claiming otherwise were “completely false.”
AICWA has urged Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to order a high-level inquiry into the incident. The association wants the investigation to determine the exact cause of Sharma’s medical emergency, examine whether safety and hygiene protocols were followed and identify any negligence by the producer, production house or other responsible authorities.
It has also demanded that the makers bear the complete cost of Rajesh Sharma’s treatment and ensure he receives the best possible medical care until his recovery.
While the exact reason behind of Rajesh Sharma’s illness remains unclear, fans and industry now await for official clarity as the actor continues to recover.
