Veteran music composer Pyarelal Sharma is mourning the loss of dearest wife Sunila Pyarelal Sharma, who passed away on July 12, 2026 at the age of 78. According to the family’s statement issued on social media, she breathed her last surrounded by loved ones. Her funeral was held on Monday at the Dattatray Road Crematorium in Santacruz (West), Mumbai where family members, close friends and several personalities from the entertainment industry had gathered to pay their respects.
The news of Pyarelal’s wife Sunila Sharma’s demise was shared through a heartfelt statement posted on social media by singer Priyanka Mitra. The family wrote, “With deep grief and love in our hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Amma, Sunila Pyarelal Sharma, who left for her heavenly abode on 12 July 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her family. Amma lived a life of grace, devotion, and quiet strength—a pillar of unconditional love to all who knew her. While our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing she is finally at peace. We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support of our family and friends during this time. Your work here is beautifully finished, Amma. Rest in eternal peace.”
Priyanka Mitra also remembered her with an emotional note, writing, “At a complete loss of words Amma… You’ve always been our Queen, and shall remain forever. Our strongest pillar is gone… Will long to hear your laughter forever Amma. Om Shanti.”
Pyarelal Sharma had often made joint appearances with wife Sunila Pyarelal Sharma at various events and television reality shows, winning hearts with their warmth, unbreakable bond and enduring love. The emotional reality of that bond was felt deeply when the legendary musician arrived alone at the last rites held at the Santacruz crematorium, visibly devastated by the loss of his lifelong companion.
Singer Shabbir Kumar, Sudesh Bhosale, the family of late composer Ravindra Jain, RJ Anmol and many others attended the funeral to offer condolences. Fans also expressed their grief on social media, remembering Sunila Sharma’s support throughout Pyarelal’s remarkable musical journey.
