Yuzvendra Chahal To Settle Divorce With Dhanashree Verma For Rs 4.75 Crore Alimony, Bombay HC Speeds Up Process

Yuzvendra Chahal has agreed to pay Rs 4.75 crore to choreographer Dhanashree Verma. According to a report by Bar and Bench on Wednesday, this amount is part of a consent agreement.

Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has agreed to pay Rs 4.75 crore to choreographer Dhanashree Verma. According to a report by Bar and Bench on Wednesday, this amount is part of a consent agreement in which Chahal has committed to paying a permanent alimony of Rs 4.75 crore to Verma. So far, he has already paid Rs 2.37 crore to her. The family court considered the non-payment of the remaining amount as non-compliance with the agreement.

Several media reports reveal that the six months of cooling period under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act is asked to be waived off. Justice Jamdar of the high court allowed the petition. The information stated that, “As the petitioner No 1 (Chahal) is a participant of IPL, the advocate informs that he may not be available post March 21. The family court is hence requested to decide their divorce plea by March 20th.”

Bar and Bench said “As per the consent term, Chahal had agreed to pay a permanent alimony of Rs 4 crore 75 lakh to Verma of which Rs 2 crore 37 lakh and 55 thousand is already paid. The non-payment of the rest of the amount was seen as non compliance by the family court“. The two have been living separately for two and a half years and reportedly are on the same page regarding alimony. Earlier reports had indicated that Dhanashree was seeking Rs 60 crore in alimony from Chahal. However, her family denied such claims, calling it a baseless rumor.
