Son of Sardaar 2: “Watching From Above” Fans Moved by Mukul Dev’s Presence in Teaser

Ajay Devgn's upcoming film, Son Of Sardaar 2, is scheduled for release on July 25, 2025. The teaser for the film was unveiled on Thursday and has garnered a positive reaction. Nevertheless, viewers were moved upon seeing the late actor, Mukul Dev, featured in the teaser.

The teaser for Son of Sardaar 2 was released on June 26, 2025 — and emotional waves swept over fans globally as they caught a glimpse of the late Mukul Dev, who sadly passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 54.

Mukul Dev was a cherished figure in the original Son of Sardaar (2012), portraying the character Tony, alongside Vindu Dara Singh’s Tito — and his absence was profoundly felt by fans in the sequel’s teaser. Viewers inundated social media with comments: “The madness begins… but this time, with a missing star Mukul Dev watching from above.” This film represents Mukul’s final performance, infusing each frame with a sense of powerful nostalgia and poignancy.

Ajay Devgn reprises his role as Jassi, joined by co-stars Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Kubbra Sait, and Vindu Dara Singh. The filming occurred in Edinburgh, London, Chandigarh, and Punjab from mid-2024 to early 2025. It has been officially announced that the film will be released in theaters on July 25, 2025, with plans for a Netflix premiere following its theatrical run.

Vindu Dara Singh, who returns as Tito alongside Mukul, referred to the sequel as Mukul’s “swansong,” emphasizing that it would have audiences “rolling on the floor laughing” — a poignant tribute given that Mukul will not be present to witness the audience’s reaction. Vindu also shared that Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt motivated Mukul to improve his fitness during the filming in Scotland, highlighting their strong friendship.

Fans are gearing up for an exhilarating July — a mix of anticipation for Ajay Devgn’s comeback and a bittersweet remembrance of Mukul Dev…
