Shaan REVEALS How He Changed His Name From Shantanu To Shaan
In the short-long interaction, Shaan reveals how his name changed from Shantanu Mukherjee to Shaan. Surpisingly, unlike many who change their names basis of the astrology or universe signs, Shaan did it because he was advised to do so. Shaan, who was originally Shantanu Mukherjee came out with an album ‘Naujawan’ in the year 1996. This album was in collaboration with sister Sagaraika Mukherjee. Thus during the album cover, he was suggested to cut the name short, as it occupied a lot of space. Shaan told that, “Sagarika, the title name Naujawan and Shantanu Mukherjee all of this was making it too long and occupying space. We couldn’t cut short Sagarika’s name to Sag, as it would sound like a foreign dish. Later he was advised to cut it short to Shaan, and ever since – he began to come out as Shaan and dropped Shantanu as his name.
