Shreyas Talpade Gives Different Take On Boycott Trend, Says Existence of Actors Has No Meaning

Shreyas Talpade has come forward to speak on the ongoing boycott trend but he has a different take says the existence of artists has no meaning

Bollywood movies are facing major backlash from people through the boycott trend. The Hindi film industry is under unanticipated blow with consecutive films getting flop at the box office. Netizens are targeting every film calling for a boycott and this cancel culture trend has been impacting films badly. Many film fraternity people including actors and directors have given their thoughts on this ongoing trend. Now actor Shreyas Talpade has come forward to speak on the ongoing boycott trend but he has a different take.

In a recent interview with News18 Lokmat, Shreyas Talpade commented on the most talked subject of the time. He made indirectly referred to celebrities’ statements on the boycott trend and expressed displeasure. He also said he was praying for wisdom for Bollywood celebs.

On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi Shreyas had a conversation with News18 Lokmat. The actor was asked what he wishes from Lord Ganesha on the occasion. To this the actor said he wants Lord Ganesha to give wisdom to those working in the industry. He said, “Whatever statements are being made in the (film) industry right now, I don’t like them. They don’t seem convincing. The prayer is at the feet of Bappa to grant wisdom to us all, who are working in the industry. Because the statements that have come now are not very convincing to me.”

He added, “if one’s partner or better half is miffed for some reason, one doesn’t tell them to go away but instead convinces them not to leave and wins them over once again by apologising for a mistake. If the audience does not see their work, the existence of artists has no meaning.”

Earlier, many actors including Kareena Kapoor and Alia Bhatt had asked the audience to not watch their films if they don’t like. In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Alia had said, “I can’t keep defending myself verbally. And if you don’t like me, don’t watch me. I can’t help it. That’s something I can’t do (anything about).”

On the work front, Shreyas Talpade will portray the role of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the upcoming film Emergency directed by Kangana Ranaut.
