Actor Aman Dhaliwal, who has starred in several Punjabi and Hindi films, was stabbed to death by an unknown assailant while working out at a gym in the United States. Video of the attack, which has since circulated widely on social media, shows the attacker holding Dhaliwal hostage and asking for water.

According to US reports, Dhaliwal was recently working out at Planet Fitness in Grand Oaks, California, when the attacker entered the gym and stabbed him, hostage. The viral video shows the man, dressed in a light-colored hoodie, repeatedly demanding water while threatening to stab Dhaliwal. At one point in the video, when the attacker is looking away, Dhaliwal knocks him to the ground just after other people at the gym rush to his aid.
The video then shows several people pushing the attacker to the ground and telling him to “stop resisting”. The attacker is currently in police custody and local police are investigating the cause of the attack. The actor was reportedly taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds to his torso but is said to be out of danger.

Dhaliwal, a resident of Mansa in Punjab, began his career as a model after being spotted by an agent at a hair salon in Delhi. Early in his career, he worked on several Punjabi music videos. He made his acting debut in 2007 with a small role in Big Brother starring Sunny Deol. The following year he played Rajkumar Ratan Singh in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar. Since then he has acted in several Hindi and Punjabi films and TV shows including Virsa, Ik Kudi Punjab Di, Vighnaharta Ganesh, and others.
