Hundreds of thousands of revelers descended on California’s Coachella Valley for the desert’s premier arts festival, which begins Friday and features white headliners for the first time.
Bad Bunny, K-pop superstars Blackpink and influential R&B artist Frank Ocean will be headlining the Coachella 2023, the mammoth event, held over two three-day weekends and traditionally initiates the summer concert cycle of the year.

This will be a historic weekend with Bad Bunny, the world’s most-streamed artist, as the first Spanish-speaking and first Latino act to make headlines, and South Korean K-pop group Blackpink are the first Asian acts to receive top billing at the festival.
Both acts debuted at Coachella in 2019 to great fanfare, eventually earning a headlining slot. Ocean believed to be the first queer man to headline the festival, was originally booked as a lead performer for the 2020 edition, which was postponed and eventually canceled by organizers due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The acclaimed R&B artist, who hasn’t released an album since 2016’s ‘Blonde’, is expected to debut his new work at this year’s festival.
The festival will be live-streamed performances from all its stages at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, for both weekends, April 14-16 and April 21-23.

This year, other artists set to take the stage include Calvin Harris, Gorillaz, Björk, Rosalía, Burna Boy, Kali Uchis, Pusha T, Latto, Kaytranada, Becky G, Charli XCX, Labrinth, A Boogie, Willow, the Kid LAROI, GloRilla and more.
Last year, Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and The Weeknd with Swedish House Mafia headlined the annual music festival. Kanye West was initially set to perform but pulled out just days before the first weekend due to some reasons.
