Colombian-American actress Sofia Vergara celebrated her 53rd birthday with sun, style and sweet treats during a summer escape to Sardinia. The Grizelda actress took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her big day, lounging in a white bikini while surrounded by elegant floral arrangements and a birthday cake.
In the post, Sofia is seen sitting casually on the floor of her hotel villa while behind her, a table full of baked goodies and vases bursting with roses and hydrangeas steal the frame. She captioned the post as “Bday in Sardinia!!” The second half of her post featured a short video offering a closer look at her decor and a frosted cake that read “Feliz Cumpleaños” in Spanish.
What caught even more attention than her celebrations, were the whispers surrounding her possible romance with former football player Tom Brady.
Sofia Vergara and Tom Brady were recently spotted attending the launch of the luxurious Ritz-Carlton superyacht, Luminara which reportedly costs $78,000 per night. According to Page Six, Brady even asked to switch seats to be closer to Sofia during one of the yacht’s formal dinners. A photo later shared by Sofia showed the pair sitting next to each other with singer J Balvin leaning in to kiss her on the forehead as Tom smiled at the camera.
Fans began wondering if the flowers in her birthday post were gifts from Brady with one user commenting, “Tom Brady bought those lol.” Despite the speculation, Brady’s rep told PEOPLE that he “would never” say anything like Sofia being “too old” for him, denying recent gossip. Sources close to the pair also insist they are not dating but simply enjoying time as part of a larger celebrity group during the yacht’s maiden voyage.
Whether it’s a budding friendship or something more, Sofia’s birthday certainly had more than one reason to be in the spotlight.
