American actress Michelle Trachtenberg’s unexpected passing at 39, on February 26, came in as a huge shock for fans and close ones. While she kept her health struggles always private, her longtime friend has now revealed that she battled multiple health issues leading up to her death.
Speaking to the US Weekly, according to Michelle Trachtenberg’s friend she often experienced medical complications. “Whenever we spoke, there was something medically wrong,” the friend shared. “She had back issues, then bone problems, and she also fell a few times.” And despite these challenges, she remained resilient and tried not to let her health define her. Also, the actress was last seen dining with friends at a popular NYC restaurant just days before she passed away. And according to an eyewitness, she seemed totally unwell during her last days and felt something is off and another source from the industry shared similar concerns, noting that she looked frail and had been dealing with health issues for a while.
Michelle Trachtenberg’s friend also addressed speculation about her lifestyle saying, “She did drink but not excessively in public. She was never the type to party hard. In the end, she was more of a recluse.”
Before passing, observing the change of physical appearance in the actress social media users had commented on her appearance, which led to Michelle respond to concerns in January 2024. Through which she went on to dismissed claims that she looked unwell stating, “I am happy and healthy. Check yourself, haters.”
Following her passing, co-stars such as Sarah Michelle Gellar and Blake Lively shared emotional tributes. The official cause of her death remains undetermined, as her family declined an autopsy for religious reasons.
