Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki Crafted At Rs 85 Cr, Film Already In Profit Of Rs 100 Cr As Per Reports

Excitingly, 'Dunki' has already secured its "non-theatrical rights" fetching an amount "in the range of Jawan".

Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Dunki,’ set for release on December 21, may mark his third hit this year if things go well. The film, a collaboration between director Rajkumar Hirani and SRK, is anticipated to captivate audiences. Interestingly, ‘Dunki’ stands out as one of SRK’s least expensive recent ventures, reportedly made on a budget of Rs 85 crore. However, this budget doesn’t cover the costs of talents like SRK, Hirani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and others.

According to Pinkvilla reports, Rajkumar Hirani is noted as a prudent spender in the film’s production. It’s revealed that both Shah Rukh and Hirani are profit participants in ‘Dunki.’ After considering expenses for prints and publicity, the overall cost escalated to approximately Rs 120 crore. The movie’s shooting spanned 75 days, with Shah Rukh dedicating 60 days to his role.

Excitingly, ‘Dunki’ has already secured its “non-theatrical rights” fetching an amount “in the range of Jawan,” indicating substantial profit even before its theatrical release, amounting to nearly Rs 100 crore.

In contrast, Shah Rukh Khan’s previous film ‘Jawan,’ produced under Red Chillies Entertainment, had a budget that eventually surpassed Rs 300 crore during production. While the film exceeded its planned budget, it emerged as a massive success, becoming the year’s top-grossing film and the second-highest Hindi grosser worldwide (after ‘Dangal’). ‘Jawan’ amassed Rs 1160 crore globally, with an impressive Rs 640.25 crore nett collection in India, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.
