Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor gears up to close the year with a bang as the much-anticipated trailer of his upcoming film ‘Animal’ hits the screens. The teaser, dropped by the makers on Thursday, promises an unprecedented portrayal of Ranbir’s character.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, ‘Animal’ features Anil Kapoor portraying Ranbir’s father and Rashmika Mandanna as his wife. However, stealing the spotlight in the trailer is the enigmatic antagonist, portrayed by Bobby Deol.
The ‘Animal’ trailer showcases varied shades of Ranbir’s character, from a devoted son and passionate lover to a relentless and bloodthirsty thug seeking vengeance for his father.
Ranbir’s character appears in his most intense and brutal form yet, depicted engaging in merciless killings using knives, axes, and even a machine gun. While the teaser hinted at it, the trailer delves deeper into how his character transforms due to a violent upbringing, with his father, played by Anil Kapoor, being held responsible.
Scheduled for a theatrical release on December 1, ‘Animal’ was initially slated for August 11, 2023, but faced delays due to pending post-production work.
In an interview with Variety, Ranbir Kapoor discussed his decision to join ‘Animal,’ addressing queries about Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s previous films ‘Arjun Reddy’ and ‘Kabir Singh,’ known for controversial portrayals. Ranbir stated, “I was genuinely captivated by the ‘Animal’ script. It’s a unique and intense story that grabbed my attention. While I did watch ‘Arjun Reddy’ and ‘Kabir Singh,’ my choice to be a part of ‘Animal’ was primarily influenced by the script, character, and the chance to collaborate with Sandeep Reddy Vanga.”
