Rohit Shetty’s House Firing Case: Five Arrested As Police Suspect Bishnoi Gang Connection

Gunshots outside Rohit Shetty’s Mumbai residence trigger panic. Five suspects are caught, social media threats surface and police probe possible gang links as the investigation takes on.

A sudden burst of gunfire outside a familiar Bollywood address sent shockwaves through the city at Sunday midnight. This time, the target was aimed at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence, a director who usually stays private and away from the spotlight unless he’s directing a film or hosting a show.

According to Mumbai police officials, at least five rounds were fired near his residence in Juhu around 12:45 am. One bullet hit the glass of a gym located on the first floor of the nine-storey building. Thankfully, no injuries were reported and it remains unclear whether Shetty was at home at the time or not.

Police Action and Arrests After Gunfire Attempt At Rohit Shetty’s Residence

Soon after the incident, Mumbai Police went on to increase security around the building and started a full investigation regarding the same. CCTV footage from the area was examined, and forensic and ballistic teams were deployed to collect evidence.

And within hours, five suspects were detained in Pune and later produced before a Mumbai court. The accused were identified as Aman Marote, Aditya Gayaki, Siddharth Yenpure, Samarth Pomaji and Swapnil Sakat. Police stated that the suspects hail from different parts of Pune and were arrested after CCTV analysis.

The court granted four-day police custody and while many are suspecting if this is linked to Bishnoi gang, the lawyer representing the accused claimed they have no direct role in the firing and denied any connection with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, stating that the arrested individuals are ready to cooperate.

Social Media Threat Raises Alarm

A few hours after the firing, a threatening social media post surfaced which allegedly linked to Shubham Lonkar, an accused in the NCP leader Baba Siddique murder case. The post warned that the firing was a message and hinted at further danger, raising concerns about gang violence reaching Bollywood celebrities.

Police have registered a case under attempted murder provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. For now, officials have said that all angles are being explored and more clarity is expected as questioning continues.
