She recalled recently speaking with a veteran actress who had worked in multiple films alongside Amitabh and Rekha, who told Pooja Samant that Rekha gave up eating non-vegetarian food while on film sets just to impress Amitabh Bachchan, the superstar who always follows a vegetarian diet. This small but significant choice showed the efforts she was willing to make at that time.
Further Pooja also mentioned how the entire industry was stunned when Rekha arrived at Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh’s wedding wearing sindoor in her hairline, despite not being married. She said, that moment Rekha stole more attention than the bride and groom themselves and intensifying the rumours about her relationship with Amitabh.
While speaking of these long-standing rumours, Pooja highlighted another side of the story – the respect Amitabh Bachchan holds for his wife Jaya Bachchan. She shared how Big B has often expressed gratitude for Jaya, who gave up her successful acting career at its peak just to focus on their family. She not only raised their children with strong values but also supported Amitabh throughout his journey. According to Pooja, Amitabh notes that no other actress in Indian cinema could sacrifice as much for her family as Jaya did.
