Tamil cinema fans are in for a treat. Prabhas starrer Adipurush and Thalapathy Vijay’s film Varisu is to release on the same day. The makers of Varisu dropped a poster on Diwali on 24th October and announced the release date. Both films are set to release on the occasion of Makar Sankranti next year in 2023. The action thriller and mythological epic drama will have a face-off.
While it will be a treat for cinephiles it will also call for a tiff between Prabhas and Vijay’s fans. Adipurush and Varisu will clash in theaters and will fight to make business at the box office. On the auspicious festive Diwali, Varisu makers unveiled a poster on their social media accounts and also announced the release on Makar Sankranti and Pongal.
Sri Venkateswara Creations, the makers of ‘Varisu’ took to Twitter and wrote, “Let’s celebrate #Vaarasudu #Varisu in theaters for Sankranthi 2023 #VarisuPongal.” The text in the poster read The Boss Returns.
Thalapathy Vijay will share the screen with Rashmika Mandanna for the first time in Varisu. Apart from the two, an ensemble cast of the wholesome entertainer includes, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Sarathkumar, Khushbu, Srikanth, Shaam, Sangeetha Krish, Samyuktha, Prakash Raj, and Yogi Babu. The Tamil film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally.
Adipurush is a mythological epic drama film based on Ramayana. The film based on Ramayana will have Prabhas essaying Ram, Kriti Sanon will be seen as Sita, Saif Ali Khan will play Lankesh aka Ravan and Sunny Singh will play the role of Laxman. Helmed by Om Raut Adipurush is produced by T-Series Films and Retrophiles. Adipurush is scheduled to release in theaters on 12th January 2023.
The south film industry and cinema enthusiasts are going witness a big clash in theaters during the festival of Makar Sankranti and Pongal. During the occasion, Adipurush starring Prabhas and Varisu featuring Thalapathy Vijay will lock horns at the box office.
