Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Rajinikanth are set to collaborate on an untitled Tamil-language film after a hiatus of 32 years. This highly anticipated film will receive a pan-India release and is poised to break box office records.
Lyca Productions, renowned for producing large-scale, blockbuster movies like “Robot 2.0,” “Darbar,” and “Ram Setu,” made an official announcement through their social media handle on ‘X’:
“Welcoming the Shahenshah of Indian cinema, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, on board for #Thalaivar170. #Thalaivar170Team reaches new heights with the towering talent of the one and only @SrBachchan,” the post stated.
Both these legendary artists previously collaborated in 1992 for Mukul Anand’s film, ‘Hum,’ which was a blockbuster during its time.
The forthcoming film will be directed by the critically acclaimed director T.J. Gnanavel, known for his work on ‘Jai Bhim,’ for which actor Surya received a National Award. This project is highly anticipated as it marks Superstar Rajinikanth’s 170th film.
In addition to Rajinikanth and Mr. Bachchan, the movie will also feature other big names from the industry such as Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati, who enjoy a significant fan following among audiences. The film’s music will be composed by the rockstar music director, Anirudh, whose tracks for the film ‘Jawan’ are still trending and popular among music enthusiasts.
Amitabh Bachchan’s last appearance was in Rajshri Productions’ film, ‘Uunchai,’ alongside Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, and others, which was well-received by audiences of all age groups. Rajinikanth’s last high-octane action film, ‘Jailer,’ was also a blockbuster and created history, produced by Sun Pictures.
