R. Ravikumar’s much-awaited sci-fi Tamil film, Ayalaan was released in theatres on 12th January. Starring Sivakarthikeyan and Rakul Preet Singh the Tamil sci-fi opened up to positive reviews from the critics and received an overwhelming response from the audience at the box office. After its decent performance in the theatres, the makers of the film have now officially announced the sequel of the Tamil film.
In an official statement, the makers of the sci-fi Tamil film, Ayalaan announced the sequel of the film. On Tuesday, singer Venkataraman shared the official announcement of the sequel on Twitter and wrote, “Ayalaan 2 is happening.”
The long statement read, “Following the resounding success of the original Ayalaan, the decision to reunite actor Sivakarthikeyan, director Ravikumar, and the producers a KGR Studio underscores the winning combination that captivated audiences in the first installment. The iconic character Tattoo, an alien from the original film, has left an indelible mark on audiences from all backgrounds.”

Ayalaan was released alongside Dhanush starrer Tamil film, Captain Miller. Ayalaan secured a box office opening worth ₹ 3.45 Cr. The film currently stands at a domestic total of approx. ₹ 42.70 Cr.
