South superstar, Rajinikanth who recently delivered blockbuster hit “Jailer” has now officially announced his upcoming project and collaboration with the “Vikram” director, Lokesh Kanagaraj. It’s now official, that that the South megastar will be collaborating with Lokesh Kanagaraj for “Thalaivar 171”.
For the unversed, there had previously been speculations about Lokesh Kanagaraj’s collaboration with Jailer actor, Rajinikanth. Ever since the release of the blockbuster hit film, “Vikram” it was rumored that the legendary actor Rajinikanth and famous director Lokesh Kanagaraj will be coming together for a film.

And finally on Monday, the reports were confirmed by Sun Pictures. Taking to their Twitter handle, Sun Pictures announced the upcoming project of Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj, and wrote, “We are happy to announce Superstar @rajinikanth’s #Thalaivar171 Written & Directed by @Dir_Lokesh An @anirudhofficial musical Action by @anbariv”.
The news of the collaboration of the duo took the internet by storm. A segment of netizens shared their reactions and excitement for the upcoming project of the Tamil megastar. A user wrote, “Whatta time to announce this one”, “Waiting For This Movie’s Shooting To Kickstart Soon”. Another user tweeted, “1000cr on the way”.

For the unversed, Rajinikanth recently delivered his blockbuster hit Tamil film “Jailer”. Jailer turned out to become a massive box office success and also became the all-time highest grossing Tamil film. The film crossed the 500cr mark and is now very close to cross the 600cr mark at the box office.
Apart from his collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj for “Thalaivar 171” Rajinikanth is also has another film with “Jai Bhim” director, TJ Gnanavel. On the other hand, Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film LEO which stars Vijay Thalapathy, Sanjay Dutt and others.
