A woman who claimed that hip-hop artists Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z sexually assaulted her when she was 13 years old has withdrawn her civil lawsuit as of Friday. Jay-Z Reacts On The Dropping Of Lawsuit
The filing presented to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York indicates that the person bringing the claim “does hereby notify that the aforementioned case is voluntarily terminated, with prejudice,” signifying that the legal action cannot be refiled. It was not immediately clear if the stars had reached a settlement with the unidentified woman. But, the 55 year old rapper Jay-Z welcomed the closure of the case, which he slammed as “frivolous, fictitious, and appalling”.
Releasing a long penned statement, Jay-z mentioned, “Today is a victory. The frivolous, fictitious, and appalling allegations have been dismissed. This civil suit was without merit and was never going anywhere. The fictional tale they created was laughable, if not for the seriousness of the claims,”

Stating further, Jay- Z said that the court should definitely protect the victims, but with the same ethical responsibility they should protect the innocent ones from being accused. Meanwhile, Sean Diddy Combs, also has been charged separately, with sex trafficking and racketeering. As he denies all the charges, his criminal trial is slated to begin on May 5.
