Indian television actress Ragini Khanna, has predominantly worked in numerous TV Shows in the past. From attracting the public’s attention from Sasural Genda Phool and Posham Pa, to entertaining the 90s kids with shows like Bhaskar Bharti, and more, Ragini Khanna has been a perfect package of all. She has also worked in the famous comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show. However, the short-running character of Ragini Khanna that might have entertained fans was something that made Khanna uncomfortable the most. Ragini recently shared her experience working for a few episodes of Kapil Sharma’s show and said that it has given her a lot of discomfort during the old days.
Ragini Khanna On Working At Comedy Nights With Kapil
In an interaction with Hindi Rush, Ragini Khanna revealed that the makers of the show approached her for the show, but she could not because of not having free dates. Therefore, she just happened to manage a few episodes like complementary. But being introduced to her character in the show seemed annoying to Ragini. She said that she was told that her character was of a “Hot Girl”. She would wonder what exactly is a ‘hot girl’ as a character. “Basically wearing skimpy clothes, looking at your glamorous best, and eye-ravishing is what the role was about“, Ragini exclaimed. She further reacted saying that whenever she felt like getting a reality check on ‘feminism’,she used to go to that show. “Women are still viewed as hot girls. I am still a hot-baked girl. Baked, roasted, burnt,” she added further criticising the vision.
When the interviewer continued that when the makers did not get a “hot-girl”, they made brother Krushna Abhishek one. To this Ragini said, “Hot Girl hi to hai. What is Sapna? A Hot Girl. That’s the right hot girl”. Referring to the current way of society judging women, she said, “If you don’t objectify the leading lady, who else will you objectify”. In the conversation, she was asked where is the humor in this character portrayal, Ragini explained that being a bimbo is a humor. “You are stunning looking and you don’t have a brain”, she remarked.
Earlier also Kapil Sharma’s comedy show has received indifferent remarks from various set of people. While many people called him out for his way of objectifying women in the show, many others also slammed him for going insensitive at times, to make his audience laugh.
