RaayanBoxOffice: South actor Dhanush’s second directorial venture, “Raayan” was released in the theatres on 26 July. Starring Dhanush, S.J Suryah, and others, the Tamil action thriller opened up to positive reviews from critics and moviegoers. Following the positive reception the South film registered a solid opening at the box office, opening in double digits.

As per Sacnilk.com, Dhanush starrer Tamil action thriller, Raayan took a double-digit opening worth ₹ 12.5 Cr. With an impressive opening, the Tamil film is expected to see further growth during the upcoming weekend (Saturday-Sunday). If all goes well, the film could cross the 20cr mark by the end of the weekend. Raayan is enjoying a solo run at the box office, with no major clash or competition at the box office.
Raayan Plot
Raayan (Dhanush), the eldest of four siblings, takes care of his brothers and sister after their parents disappear. In their Tamil Nadu town, gangsters Sekar (SJ Suryah) and Saravanan maintain a fragile peace. When a new police commissioner (Prakash Raj) arrives, he disrupts this balance, exposing the gangs’ secrets. Raayan, who runs a small food stall, gets dragged into the ensuing gang war after an incident shakes their happy life. The story follows Raayan’s struggle in this dangerous conflict.
