R Madhavan’s film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is slowly and steadily picking up the pace at the box office. The film started off on a slow note on its release day, but with the word of mouth publicity, the film has been garnering the audience’s attention. Made with a budget of Rs 60 crore, the film was released on 3000 screens around the globe.

Rocketry was released in multiple languages with an opening of Rs 1.73 crore on Friday. The weekend witnessed massive growth as on Saturday, the film had earned Rs 2.97 crore while Sunday recorded Rs 3.70 crore earning. Thus, on the first weekend, the film touched Rs 8.40 crore. On the first Monday, that, is, on Day 4, the film’s collection is estimated to be around Rs 3 crore. With this pace, the film might cross Rs 25 crore earning on the second weekend.

Meanwhile, the film continues to receive appreciation from the masses. People on the Internet have been thanking R Madhavan for bringing out the story of former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan whose contribution in the field of rocket science has been remarkable but was falsely accused, arrested and tortured in a false espionage case.

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect has been written, directed and produced by R Madhavan. It features himself alongside actress Simran. The film has been simultaneously shot in Hindi, Tamil and English. Shah Rukh Khan makes a cameo appearance in the Hindi version of the film.
