How Rocketry Reunited R Madhavan And Simran After 20 Years!

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect marks the reunion of R Madhavan and Simran as on-screen husband and wife after 20 years.

Tamil superstar R Madhavan is garnering praises for his directorial debut ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’. The film, released in theatres on July 1, is being widely appreciated by the fans and critics. We all know that R Madhavan is a phenomenal actor, but he has now proved his mettle as a director and producer with ‘Rocketry’. And honestly, neither the actor himself, nor his fans could have asked for a better launch than this!

The film is special, not only because it showcases R Madhavan’s brilliance but mostly because it presents us with a bitter truth, a history that makes us feel ashamed. The film is based on former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, whose contribution to this nation can’t be quantified but was accused in a false espionage case.

The film is special for one more reason. It has reunited R Madhavan and Simran after 20 years. The two gorgeous actors first collaborated in 2001 for the Tamil film ‘Paarthale Paravasam’. In the film, R Madhavan and Simran played husband and wife and 20 years later, they returned as Mr and Mrs Narayanan in ‘Rocketry’. For their fans, it feels like yesterday to see them together on-screen again. Their chemistry still swoons us and both of them are ageing like fine wine.

Even Simran agrees that not much has changed in the last 20 years. Sharing a recent picture with R Madhavan, she wrote on Twitter, “From playing Simi & Dr. Madhava in Paarthale Paravasam to Indira & Thiru in Kannathil Muthamittal, to playing Mr. and Mrs. Nambi Narayanan, nothing much has changed.”

She then added, “It was wonderful to work on your directorial debut in addition to sharing the screen with you after 20 long years! You are the BEST, Maddy.”

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect features R Madhavan in the lead role. The film has been simultaneously shot in English, Hindi and Tamil. The Hindi version marks Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo as he makes his comeback to the big screens after four years. The film collected approximately Rs 8 crore on the first weekend.
