Following Citadel, Priyanka Chopra is poised to captivate audiences with her action persona in the film Heads of State. The actress recently participated in the London premiere of the film, where she discussed her passion for action films and praised the action performances of Akshay Kumar and Tom Cruise in a dialogue with India Today.
Priyanka recognized the talents of Akshay and Tom in their action films but also conveyed her reluctance to undertake similar stunts. She remarked, “I love what Akshay Kumar and Tom Cruise do. They’re really good at that, but I don’t think I have the courage to hang off a plane that’s taking off or do that kind of stuff.”
The rumored relationship between Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar was indeed a significant subject of speculation within Bollywood during the early 2000s. Their on-screen chemistry in movies such as Andaaz (2003), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Aitraaz (2004), and Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005) intensified the speculation regarding an off-screen romance. Although they never publicly acknowledged a romantic involvement, rumors of an affair persisted, especially following their notable chemistry in the film “Aitraaz”.
It is believed that these rumors contributed to Akshay Kumar’s choice to cease collaborations with Priyanka Chopra, allegedly to safeguard his marriage to Twinkle Khanna. It is widely understood that Twinkle Khanna, Akshay’s wife, was dissatisfied with the ongoing rumors and reportedly urged Akshay to refrain from working with Priyanka. Following their film Waqt, Akshay and Priyanka were not seen together on screen again, which further fueled the speculation.
Priyanka Chopra personally tackled the matter during interviews, expressing her desire not to be the “bone of contention” in anyone’s joyful life and indicating that it was simpler for her to cease collaboration with Akshay Kumar.

Although they ceased their professional partnership, both actors have continued to enjoy remarkably successful careers on their own.
