The roaring Australian cricket team is all set to take on the furious young Indian cricket team in the upcoming 3 ODI matches to be played in the Indian front yard. The ODI series will kick start on 14 January 2020 at Wankhede in Mumbai.

Whenever team India and team Australia play against each other a kind of rivalry sparks between their respective fans. With team India being the favorites this time because of playing at home, it will also be a point to keep in mind that even the Kangaroos have a massive fan following in the Indian sub-continent.

Recently, such an incident happened when the former Australian skipper, Ricky Ponting was asked by a fan on Twitter to predict the winners for this India vs Australia ODI series. The question was a tricky one with both teams being at their epitome of form. To this question, Ricky replied by tweeting, “Australia will be full of confidence after an excellent World Cup and a great summer of Test cricket but India will be keen to redeem themselves from the last ODI series loss against Australia. Prediction: 2-1 Australia.”

The former Australian legend chose his home side against team India. Given the commendable season the Kangaroos have enjoyed it was very obvious. They whitewashed both Pakistan and New Zealand in the Test Series. On the other hand, the men in blue will be in anticipation to take revenge from Australia who had made an absolute comeback and won the five-match ODI series by taking the lead of 3-2 last year.

Ponting also showed his confidence in Marnus Labuschagne who has enjoyed the Test summer by saying that he hopes that the young cricketer translates his form into ODIs against the mighty team India. The 25-year old has obviously grabbed all the attention by playing fantastic knocks and jumping onto the No.3 spot on the ICC Test Batsmen rankings.

It will be a furious cricketing battle to witness when both the teams will take on each other. With lots of banter and sledding on the field, every cricket fan will hold their breath to see the best side emerge as winners.
