She joined entrepreneur and media mogul Arianna Huffington to discuss the challenges that many people face regarding their mental well-being. Deepika has been open about her own mental health struggles, particularly her battle with depression, which she revealed in 2014.
In a video of their conversation, Deepika talked about how being sleep-deprived and burnt out can impact decision-making. She shared, “When you are sleep-deprived or burnt out, the decisions that you make… I can tell that my decision-making is getting affected to some extent.” This honest comment shares the importance of taking care of oneself, especially for new mothers who are learning to juggle many responsibilities.
Deepika also highlighted how people often hold onto negative emotions, especially criticism. She said, “It’s absolutely normal and human to feel pain, anger and some of these extreme emotions and learning from that.” Her message reminds us that it’s important to handle criticism in a positive way and to work on personal growth, showing patience throughout the journey.
