Marvel Studios has officially announced the cast of Avengers: Doomsday and its nothing short of a mega experience set like never before, set to release on May 1, 2026. This marks the first Avengers movie since Endgame, bringing back familiar faces while introducing new ones.
Who’s Returning to the Avengers with Doomsday?
Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) will return. Joining them are Letitia Wright (Shuri/Black Panther), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), and Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent). Fans will also see Winston Duke (M’Baku) and Tenoch Huerta (Namor) again.
X-Men and Fantastic Four Enter the Scene
Several X-Men actors will make an appearance including Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James Marsden (Cyclops), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique) and Kelsey Grammer (Beast). Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler) and Channing Tatum (Gambit) also join the ensemble. The Fantastic Four will be part of the action featuring Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing).
The biggest surprise is Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the MCU but this time he’ll not be seen as an Iron Man but getting into the villainous role of Victor von Doom also known as Doctor Doom. Marvel first confirmed this at San Diego Comic-Con 2024. His role in Avengers: Doomsday is expected to be a major shift in the storyline.
The Russo BRothers -Joe and Anthony Russo, known for directing Infinity War and Endgame are all set to make a comeback by helming this massive project. And with their return, undoubtedly the expectations are high for another action-packed showdown in Avengers: Doomsday.
